Food and Wine

Milton's heritage buildings are the setting for alfresco cafés and fine dining restaurants. Many excellent dining options include Italian, modern Australian, pizza, Chinese, cafés and patissèries, Pilgrims for vegetarian food and gourmet delis. A short drive to Mollymook and you can experience fine dining at Rick Stein's at Bannisters.

There are three superb local wineries within 15 minutes of Milton, Cupitt's Winery and Vineyard Kitchen in Ulladulla, Murramarang Vineyard Bawley Vale Estate and Fern Gully Winery. Visit the wineries year round or follow the wine and food trails at the South Coast Winter Wine Festival held on the June long weekend. Details Shoalhaven Coast.

Festivals and Events

The Milton Theatre is an excellent venue for live entertainment from overseas and local artists. Details Milton Theatre Gig Guide.

Escape ARTfest (1st-10th October) an annual event  "10 days of artistic bliss" This year's theme is reflect. Exhibitions and events include art, music, literature, photography, film, dance and performance. The Milton Music Festival also held in October.

Milton Settlers Fair for family fun with markets, music and entertainment. Milton has a fantastic range of specialty shops - gifts and gourmet food, kitchen and homewares, clothing, shoes, handbags and jewellery, retro and antiques. Contemporary art galleries, quality pottery studios and craft shops; custom-made furniture at  Milton Timber Gallery.

One of 4o markets on the South Coast! Milton village markets1st Saturday monthly and public holidays. Ulladullla wharf area markets 2nd Sunday monthly. Mollymook Beach markets on the 5th Sunday and Australia Day.

Beaches and the Budawangs

Unspoilt beaches, sea pools and coastal lakes are found here on the South Coast of NSW. From Milton it is a scenic drive to Lake Congola (north), Burrill and Tabourie Lakes (south). Activities include surfing, swimming, diving, snorkelling, sailing and kayaking. Whale and dolphin watching tours and fishing charters operate from Ulladulla.

Coastline walks and trails feature wildflowers, unique Australian fauna and coastal forests. Fossil walks available.

Morton National Park with the landmark Pigeon House Mountain forms a stunning backdrop in the landscape to the west of Milton. Enjoy bushwalks at the Castle, Mount Bushwalker, Granite Falls and the Budawangs. From Nowra and Ulladulla Information centres there are booklets available on popular bush tracks in the Shoalhaven.
